Sleek Haul

IMG_2436 edit
As some of you may know, forever ago Sleek MakeUP had a 50% off online sale. I spent ages trying to make an order & thought I'd been successful only to find out a week or so late that wasn't the case. I sent an email to their customer service department asking what had happened & then completely forgot about it. That was until last week, when I received a reply & a cheeky 50% off code! Winning! I've wanted to try Sleek for a long time but as it is, I have far too much make up already, most of which I don't seem to use so I only ended up ordering a couple of bits.

First up, I finally got my hands on the Bad Girl Palette. I've heard so many good things about their palettes & although I've yet to try them out, from the swatches I took, it's easy to see why they're so popular. The colours are rich and pigmented, a bargain at £6.49.

I love Mac's Tinted Lip Conditioner & hot pink so the Pout Polish in Pink Cadillac was a must have! At less than half the price of MAC & with a similar result, it's worth having one to throw in your handbag.

The True Colour Lipsticks are new to the range & I've seen them popping up on various beauty blogs recently. The two I picked up are Pink Freeze & Heartbreaker, both matte finishes. If you're thinking of trying these out, keep in mind the colours are bright!

IMG_2465 editLastly, I picked up a blush. This colour is Flamingo & true to it's name, it's a bright pink. Less is definitely more with this as like the eye shadow palette, it's incredibly pigmented.

Overall, I'm impressed. I love the packaging, the quality of the products & the price! I'll definitely be picking up more things in future.

Sunday Summary 007

IMG_2421 edit

Happy Easter lovelies, it's been a while since I've done one of these!

I'm home from uni & the break feels amazing. It's immense having a little reprieve from the work, bitchy coursemates & trampy flatmates!

In typical British fashion, lets talk about the weather?! Ohh my, the sunshine is immense! BBQs, picnics, scenic walks... I've been trying to soak up the sun as much as possible. Summer's almost here & I can't wait!

Today is Easter Sunday & as you can see from the picture above, the siblings & I have a stack of chocolate to get through. In an attempt to be good, I've frozen the majority of my eggs so I can't eat them! Who successfully gave something up for lent? My plan to give up cheese failed spectacularly...

I roped the siblings into baking some Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes this week & whilst they tasted yummy, they looked horrible! Broken scales meant guestimating & black food colouring made for grey, moldy looking butter cream. Delicious.

Since being home, I've gotten back in to going on the wii fit as a way of keeping track of my weight & I was pleased to find that since the last time I was on, I've lost 1st 7lbs. I'm so happy to finally be on track with healthy eating & exercise & I'm loving the inspiration from Where are my knees?

Roaming Around Ripley

IMG_2245 edit

Like most students, I'm home for Easter! On the way back from Leeds, I joined the family at a friend of the family's caravan for a weekend of relaxation. Although my phone signal was practically none existent & the beds in there are approximately half the size of a normal single, it was lovely to just chill out in the country. Feeling adventurous, I dragged my siblings on a walk on the Sunday. The weather was glorious & the oldies were out in full, sampling a taste of the 'world famous' Ripley ice cream & ambling through the fields. Although I've been to Ripley many times before, I'd never ventured far from the castle & shops but I'd definitely recommend going for a wander, the scenery is stunning!

On Friday, I received these lovely goodies in the post! I've wanted a turban for a while but never got round to buying one for fear of looking silly, so when Emily offered to send me a couple of things from Rock 'n Rose, I thought why not!? The adorable bracelet is something I've been eyeing up for ages & I love it. I'm tempted to buy one in every design & stack them up for summer! Emily & Jess, the owners of Rock 'n Rose, are old friends from school and I still can't get over how amazing their shop is or how much it's grown! They're gorgeous & so is their jewellery so go check them out!
