Ready To Go

To quote Klee, "RAIN RUINS LIVES".

These pictures are actually from the other week but for once I'd taken pictures for posts & planned ahead. Shame my forward thinking swiftly dried up! This beyond grim weather has put a dampener on my life. Okay, slight overreaction but still.

Look at me being typically British & harping on about the weather! If you'll excuse me, I'll just be snuggled in bed, reading magazines & bemoaning the fact I'm not at Glastonbury.

Sunday Summary 013

SS013

Ugh having one of those days where all photos look disgusting!

I went to see The Hangover 2 with Sophie yesterday & it was immense! I was worried it wouldn't live up to the first one but it was equally as giggle inducing & ridiculous. Also, Mason Lee who plays Teddy is a little babe! Or maybe that's just my thing for Asians talking?. Seen any good films recently?

Whilst we were at the cinema, we pre booked tickets for the midnight screening of Harry Potter! I don't know whether to be excited or upset. In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a huge Hazza P geek & am going to go all out for the event, wand & all ;)

After reading Laura's post I think I took her advice ("Sometimes there comes a time in every girls life when she needs to cut loose, kiss – and may I add just kiss – boys and spend two weeks grocery budget in Selfridges instead of Waitrose.") to heart & went a little bit crazy shopping this week. Clearly I need to stop reading my emails, the 'SALE' sign is much too tempting!

Earlier this week I made a 'Style Sheet' basically a document split up into different sections based on clothing items, accessories & inspiration. I'm an eclectic shopper & I buy things if I like them...the problem is, I like everything! My wardrobe is filled with an array of things that just don't go together. I'm hoping that by creating rules about what I buy my wardrobe will be more cohesive. How do you choose what to buy?

Speaking of buying clothes, I was lucky enough to win a $50 ASOS voucher from FashionStyleAdvice a little while ago & I couldn't decide what to spend it on (even though I've made 2 ASOS orders since winning!) but after waiting a week for my parcels the lure of ASOS Premier was just too strong & for less than £15 who can argue? Plus, I have a little left over to spend in the sale. Win/win!

A Smile On My Face & The Kettle On

IMG_3192 edit

Hiii lovelies! How exciting to see that there's more of you! Hopefully I won't disappoint <3

I cannot with this tragic weather. I realise I just bought a cute little umbrella but that doesn't mean I want to use it. Grumble. I was playing around with taking pictures indoors; aside from the last one, they seemed to come out okay. Can you tell I have nothing of interest to say? Probably because I've done nothing of interest! I will say that after years of being mostly unhappy it feels weird to be this content.

Picturing various ways to wear it, I bought this maxi skirt in London last summer but after trying it on realised I hated the style on me & aside from one tragic ootd post, have never worn it. I came across it after a clear out & after seeing several people work the knotted look, I figured I'd give it a try. I'm still not 100% sure the maxi trend is for me but I did feel pretty fabulous in my new hat!

Sunday Summary 012

SS012

The one time I actually remember about having to do a Sunday Summary & I have nothing of interest to post...

The rain & general bad weather we've had means I've pretty much spent the week cooped up indoors watching films & reading blogs. Thrilling on my part, right?

I've really enjoyed going swimming these past few weeks but I'd like to join a netball or basketball club, nothing competitive just a bit of fun. Is anyone part of a sports club or could give me tips on where I'd find the right information?

20% off student discount at ASOS at the moment! I've already made a cheeky order but there's so much more to buy, decisions, decisions!

Tonight's #bblogers chat was about blog content. I loved the insight into what people enjoy in regards to blog reading although ultimately I believe that the content is up to the blogger. As long as you enjoy what you're writing then that's the main thing. What do you think?

This is quite possibly the most pointless blog post ever. Apologies!

Monsoon & Accessorize Press Day - Part 2

My last post from this event included images from the Monsoon and Monsoon Fusion range. This one has all the Accessorize pictures & a sneaky peek of Monsoon Children.

Similar to the clothes, Accessorize seemed to be divided into sections based on trend and era. Romantic florals mixed with Navaho prints & chic classic black. There seemed to be a theme of texture with sequins, feathers, faux fur & beading being included throughout. There was a mix of typical gold hardware & relaxed day bags with more statement jewellery pieces and structured classic bags. I loved the variation of colours from more subtle hues and classic neutrals to deep rich purples, vibrant brights and exotic prints. The eclecticism of the collection is what gives it such British charm and ensures that there is something for everyone.

I hope you have an amazing weekend

Sunday Summary 011

SS011

A day late but who's keeping track?

Thank you so much for the good luck wishes! As some of you may know, I had my first taste of a proper job this week & my, how boring it is! Clearly working isn't for me. Know any rich pensioners?

In typical British fashion, lets talk about the weather & how glorious it was this Thursday & Friday! A trip to the park & copious ice lollies were had, the only thing missing was a BBQ.

If you have the misfortune of following me on twitter, you may have noticed my recent obsession with Boy Meets World. Marathoning through the series, I'm in love! Quite possibly the best show ever.

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on having a Facebook clear out last week. The general consensus seems to be that getting rid of idiots can only be a good thing & of course, Twitter > Facebook.

Monsoon & Accessorize Press Day - Part 1

The other week I had the privilege of attending the Monsoon/Accessorize Autumn/Winter 2011 press day. Being a cheapskate broke & not wanting to further infringe upon Sophie's weekend away, the time between my arrival train & departing one was under 3 hours! Considering we didn't know where we were going it was a close call but with a bit of running through tube stations & up escalators, I made it! Mission accomplished.

Enough of my woefully tragic James Bond escapades and onto the good stuff. Due to being in London anyway for a cheeky little trip, Sophie agreed to be my +1 & navigated us through the London underground. After getting lost, harassing bus drivers & quite possibly interrupting Amy's meeting, we finally spotted the building! ...Then promptly got lost again & ended up trawling through the ghetto & a building site trying to find out how to actually get to it. Thankfully no fences had to be jumped but considering the sunshine & my outfit choice, when we finally arrived we were a sweaty mess flustered to say the least.

I've never seen anything quite like it. The building itself is reminiscent of an airport with huge floor to ceiling windows & fit men in fancy suits. The Monsoon/Accessorize foyer hosts a little truck & a darling carousel which I was more than tempted to have a go on! I adored the rich colours and attention to detail as well as the combination of trends. My favourite piece was a gorgeous black dress with cut out detailing but the luxe knitwear was gorgeous & the whole thing was set out like a fashion forest complete with giant reindeer. I feel like I could ramble for days about the lush set-up & even lusher wait staff but I'll shut up & let the pictures do the talking:
