July Snapshot

Wow, I can't believe July is over. Not because it went so fast but because it went so slow I can't believe it was only a few weeks ago that I left college, it seems like a lifetime ago!

Evans Autumn/Winter 2010

After seeing the pictures from the YFF Conference, I was already excited to see this years Autumn/Winter collection but I'm even more impressed by the promo pictures! This may be Evans most fashion forward collection yet. I like that there's several different trends with amazing pieces in each, so there's something for everyone, regardless of style.

These are my picks from the collection, I especially love the jodhpurs and the embellished shoulders on the plaid shirt, I think I'll be going for a more grungy look this winter. Out of all of the collections, my favourite item has to be the Burberry Prorsum inspired jacket, I need it in my wardrobe stat!

Some of the Eden collection is already online, view it here

What's your favourite piece?

ASOS Curve Hooded Parka

I have a feeling I will be living in this coat, I love it so much. Way back when, I posted it as a Want of the Week but at £55 it was out of my budget. At £16 in the ASOS Sale though, I had to snap it up!

I sized up but I could have got away with my usual size, if it weren't for the length of the sleeves. My gorilla arms aside, I love the fit! It's well made and a decent length with a huge hood and giant pockets! The drawstring waist means you can play with the fit too. The ASOS sale has been far too tempting, who else snapped up a bargain?

Shopping In London

Just in case it wasn't obvious, I love shopping! In fact, I just love shops! Although it's more fun spending money, I could browse all day. So, it was no big surprise that the moment we hit London, Sophie and I hit Oxford Street.

Some of what I picked up over the weekend:
Everyone thinks these sunglasses are horrific but I love them so much!

In Selfridge's I managed to pick up a S.O.P.H.I.E wristband from the Illamasqua counter. For more information on the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, click here

Blogger Meet Up!

This past weekend, Sophie and I travelled down to London for the UK Fatshion Blogger Meet. We had an amazing 3 days and it was fabulous meeting everyone. Unfortunately, I got carried away with the day and forgot to take photos!

The day started off in Waterloo tube station, although, due to closed lines, we were a bit late! Everyone received a cute goody bag from Simply Be before walking over to Westminster Bridge and climbing aboard an open top bus.

Being a classy bunch, we grabbed lunch in Tesco and relaxed in the sun at Somerset House. It was glorious, bar the naked children running around!

After lunch and a quiz (with some amazing prizes!) we took outfit pictures before heading off to Oxford Street for shopping!

Overall I had an amazing time and it was lovely to meet all of you! By the end of the day everyone seemed to have disbanded but Sophie, Ladell, Louise and I finished off with a yummy trip to pizza hut. I'd love to do it again but perhaps next time we could bring it up North! ;D

Huge thank you to Jo and Devon for organising the day and thank you to Simply Be and Yours Clothing! :)

Long Beautiful Hair, Shining, Gleaming, Streaming, Flaxen, Waxen

I love the look of plaits, French, fishtail, English, Dutch, messy, so after finally getting my hair relaxed, I clipped in some extensions and tried to work a side plait.
I think that with braids, there's a style for everyone, what do you think?

although iI head off to London tomorrow, for the blogger meet up on Saturday! So, no more posts until next week. I'm so excited to go to London again (shopping!!), and if you're going to the meet, I'll see you there :)

Shopping The Sales

I am a sucker for sales! I hate that miffed feeling when you buy an item and days later it's half price! So, when the sales roll round it's like Christmas. As most of you may know, it's the UK Blogger Meet-Up in London this weekend, so I've been trying not to spend too much in anticipation for some shopping! I'm far too excited.

OO on the subject of excitement, I was one of the winners of the Clothing at Tesco Twitter competition this weekend! EEEP! Thank you so much Tesco and congrats to the other winners :D

On to the bits and bobs:

I also got this dress but I'm sending it back. It was too short and I didn't like it on, probably should have taken Lou's advice! Kimono Sleeve Lace Dress: £13

ASOS is killing me right now, in and out of the sale there's some amazing buys!
Who else got some sale bargains? :D

30 Days Tag: Day 16 - A Song That Makes You Cry

Okay, so technically I'm not on Day 16 but I didn't really have anything for the other days and I've been without internet for the weekend so am already behind enough! Excuses aside and on to the tag...

I cry at most things, I used to be one of those stone-faced people that didn't cry at anything and now even adverts have me welling up. Always one to dramatise, it's probably no surprise that I have a playlist entitled 'Sad Songs' which is filled with emotionally charged tunes from a variety of genres, including the songs from Day 1.

There's about 400 songs within the playlist but to save your ears, I randomly chose 5 ;)

Family Business - Kanye West

Faster The Chase - InMe

The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows - Brand New

Stand By Me - Ben E. King

Stop And Stare - One Republic

OOTD: Retro Feel

Cardigan: New Look
Dress: New Look
Wedges: New Look
Bag: Primark
Earrings: Topshop
Sunglasses: Free with a magazine!

I'm so behind with this challenge! Jennifer is doing an amazing job at completing it! I'm going to use her fabulous posts as inspiration to finish.

The lack of OOTD posts can be accounted for by the fact that I seem to be having a style crisis. I discussed personal style forever ago and the consensus seemed to be that wearing what you want, when you want is still an expression of style. But, I think the time has come where I feel the need to have a singular expression of style, where people can easily identify what is me and what isn't. Rather than just buying whatever I like, regardless of it being cohesive to the rest of my clothes. I'm sorely tempted to strip my wardrobe and start afresh. Gok Wan would come in really useful right now!

30 Days Tag: Day 12 - A Fictional Book

Harry Potter Series

I feel like I grew up with Harry Potter; from the moment he left his cupboard under the stairs to his first sighting of Hogwarts, to him defeating the Dark Lord. I remember reading the first book when I was nine and for three years I waited for my Hogwarts letter, even after I was 11, hoping they'd made a mistake! The anticipation of waiting for a new book and the excitement of going to see the films are among my cherished childhood memories. This series managed to enrapture the hearts of many and stimulate the imaginations of those all over the world. Harry Potter is easily the fandom of the decade and ten years on I'm still ridiculously excited to see the final films and take my first steps on platform 9¾.

30 Days Tag: Day 10 - A Photo Of You Taken Recently

I apologise for slacking on the blog front, I need to get on with the Big Fat Summer Challenge before summer is actually over!

Thank you to all of you who read and make the effort to comment, I really appreciate it ♥

30 Days Tag: Day 10 - Photo Of You Taken Over 10 Years Ago

I seem to be a different colour in each photo!

30 Days Tag: Day 9 - A Photo That You Took

Kanye West, Glow in the Dark Tour 2008.

We queued for hours and were on the front row but after watching several acts, including Kid Cudi and Mr Hudson it was one of the worst shows I've been to!

The stage set up was ridiculous, he had a band moving up and down in front of an elevated stage, with smoke continuously billowing out. So for most of the time we couldn't see anything. He had no dancers, so when he kept randomly walking off the stage, there was big gaps of nothing, to the point that when it ended, no one even noticed. He also didn't acknowledge the audience, besides slipping the name of the town into a song, there was no interaction whatsoever. Overall a very tedious evening! ;(

It's pretty sad that in comparison, I saw McFly a couple of days prior and their show was amazing. It's the act that makes the show, not the music! :)

30 Days Tag: Day 8 - A Photo That Makes You Sad

Looking through photos that make me sad was too upsetting a task. So, I looked through old holiday snaps instead and found this lovely picture of me and the siblings in Orlando last August! :)

NOTD: Luxe Lavender

I've been wanting Barry M's Berry Ice Cream nail paint for the longest time but out of the 4 Superdrugs and numerous Boots in the area, I can't find it anywhere! I realise they have it online but I'm too stingy to pay postage for one nail polish ;)

I found this Avon dupe and lavender nails will be taking over from mint green because I love it! :D The colour is perfect and besides minor wear around the tips from typing, it seems to be holding up pretty well! A bargain for £3!

I'm still tempted to try some of the other Barry M ice cream colours though.
What're your thoughts on pastel nails?
