Sunday Summary 002

SS002

Old photo as I look tragic today!

This week has been pretty insane, a last minute trip to London & meeting Gok Wan, who would have thought!

I've loved being at home & seeing everybody, back in Leeds today & I dislike it already. Funny how alone you can feel in a flat full of people.

On Friday, my friends & I went on Chatroulette for the first time. Funniest thing ever! There are some right creepers out there.

Uni starts again tomorrow, not sure how I feel about it but I do know I'm not excited.

I think it's time to aboard the TeamBBJ train. January was a wash out but I'm sick of being an emotionally drained emo mess. Time to get my life sorted I think!

I'm looking forward to Plus London this weekend, nervous about meeting everybody though!

How was your week?

Gok Wan For Simply Yours Event

Gok 1

On Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Gok Wan's Spring/Summer lingerie line for Simply Yours. Held in The Powder Room, the event consisted of breakfast with Gok and his team along with Chase and other PR people. The Powderpuff Girls were on hand with food and drinks, with the option of a complimentary manicure.

After a treacherous six hours of travelling, we arrived in London and set out to find a shop that was open. Leaving Middlesbrough at midnight, I was wearing a tube skirt but upon arriving in London, I appeared to be wearing a hula hoop! So, after making the trip to Oxford Street at 8am, we had to wait in the cold for half an hour for the only shop that opened before nine, Primark. Running in and out, I managed to grab a new skirt and change before making a quick dash to Soho.

We arrived at the boutique just after nine to be greeted by Chase PR and a group of gorgeously clad Powderpuff Girls. Making the descent downstairs, we were presented with racks of beautiful lingerie, rows of delicate teacups and the captivating presence of Gok Wan. After introductions and with drinks in hand, we were told the story of how the latest lingerie collection came to be.

Hearing the inspiration and the desire to create a collection that women not only felt comfortable, but sexy in was gratifying to hear. When designing and creating the new range of lingerie and shapewear, Gok's attention was on emphasis rather than concealment. The exposed industrial lines on some of the garments express a hint of honesty, a sort of blasé expression of yes, I am wearing shapewear and yes, I am still sexy. The gorgeous Chinese silk pattern adorning some of the pieces is a nod to Gok Wan's heritage, inspired by his parents but the sheer back of the body takes away any lingering thoughts of mum and dad he assured us! The famous Banger Booster Bra is back (picture 6), redesigned and overly structured to give the bangers that extra boost whatever their size! Inspired by the 50's the underwear is feminine and empowering with beautiful attention to detail, such as the delicate frills and lace.

The underwear is truly gorgeous, with a variety of pieces to suit every woman regardless of size or budget. Launching on the 27th of February, the collection ranges from a 30B to a 46G and a size 10-32 bottom. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am so glad I had the opportunity to go. A huge thank you to Sheena and the Chase PR team for inviting me.

Want Of The Week

Although it's raining & ridiculously cold outside, I can't help but want a pair of denim shorts. I can see myself wearing them with tights & layers in the winter and t-shirts & sunglasses in the summer, perfect! If only I could find this pair in New Look!

I can't believe the blog has over 400 followers now, so insane! Thank you for all of the lovely comments on my last post ♥

ASOS Order & An OOTD

My ASOS order arrived! I love everything especially the first dress, although I'm a bit disappointed that the embellished peter pan collar dress isn't as bright in real life, I was hoping for a vibrant yellow but it's more of a deep gold. Here's what I got:

What're your thoughts? I really love the first dress, so glad I managed to get one before they sold out! Who else did?

H&M Inclusive

In September last year, H&M finally launched their UK online store. Although I was initially unimpressed with the layout and navigation, the site was swiftly added to my ever expanding list of websites to window shop. The BiB selection, although modelled by the gorgeous Tara Lynn, is equally as uninspiring as it is in store but online the majority of the main range goes to a UK20 with a portion going up to a UK22-24. Considering how wack the sizing is for BiB, I found the expansion of sizing in the main range pretty exciting. Not as exciting as this however!

This spring H&M presents Inclusive – a one-off collection of colourful and feminine fashion with lots of attitude in a wider than usual range of sizes. The twenty pieces will be available in sizes 6-26 and will be sold exclusively through H&M Online from early March. The collection includes figure-flattering party dresses in 50’s styles with large polka dots and rose patterns, as well as skirts, tops, cardigans and lingerie following the same theme.

Although I'm sad that there'll only be 20 pieces, I look forward to seeing the rest of the collection!

What're your thoughts on the idea of an 'inclusive' collection, yay or nay?

Sunday Summary 001

SS001

Hey lovelies! Jumping on the blogger bandwagon by starting a weekly summary post :)

This past week has been a mixture of ups & downs. Uni exams, definitely a down! As was the bank insulting me & losing my money! Going back to Leeds & seeing everyone was amazing though & very messy ;)

Back home today as uni doesn't start 'til next week. Excited to have proper meals & not have to pay to do my washing, not excited for the crazies that are my siblings...

My tripod has arrived! I'm still waiting on a remote but at least now I have no excuse not to do outfit posts.

Sophie & I went shopping on Friday for Plus London. After picking up some gorgeous bits in Evans with my giftcard, I proceeded to lose the carrier bag in Primark... what an idiot! Luckily some nice person handed it in, otherwise there would have been tears!

Fingers crossed my ASOS order arrives tomorrow. I ordered a couple of things including this dress in black, which is now sold out!

Here's to hoping that everyone has an amazing week! :)

Pay It Forward

Hey lovelies, it's been far too long!
I hope 2011 is going well for you so far. My last exam which was a disaster was today & as uni doesn't start until the 31st, back to blogging it is! :)

payitforward

Carla started this off & as I've cheekily signed up to a couple, I figured it was about time I put my post up. Not being all that creative & having only DIY'd a jacket (which studs swiftly fell off) I can't say I have high hopes for this, but I will give it a go! ;)

If you fancy a handmade something from yours truly, just comment this post with your email address. First five to comment will be in for a treat... haha! xx
